Professor Muhammad Yunus ( Principal Advisor Bangladesh)
Principal Advisor Professor Muhammad Yunus has sought the United Nations' help in the fight against disinformation. "We seek your blessings, especially on one issue—disinformation, which is destroying us," he said at an iftar event held in honor of visiting UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres at a hotel in the capital on Saturday evening. On the topic of national unity, the principal advisor said that the unity created by the students has created a unique solidarity among people from all walks of life in the country. He said that while the people of the country disagree on many issues, they agree on one issue—"We want to build a new Bangladesh." There is no difference between us on this.’
Describing the student movement that took place in July-August last year as historic, Professor Yunus said, ‘The students did not have weapons, they only had their lives.’ He said, the students had joined the movement for freedom, to get back their country and to stand on their own feet. He said, ‘This is our new Bangladesh.’ Regarding the visit of the UN Secretary-General to Bangladesh, Professor Yunus said, this visit has brought joy to the people of Bangladesh. The Chief Advisor said, ‘We are still in the middle of Ramadan, but your visit has brought us Eid in advance. With your arrival, our Eid has already begun.’
